New Restaurant: El Clavo de la Baja at Quinta Monasterio

It's great to see that Chef Ryan Steyn has a place to showcase his talents in the Valle this season.

Trip Report: Sippity Sup

The only problem I have with this report is that he writes about Quinta Maria (one of our favorite places to stay in the Valle).  I was kinda hoping to keep that a secret.

New Lodging: Clos de Tres Cantos

Several weeks ago we visited Clos de Tres Cantos, bought a bottle of wine, and had a deep philosophical conversation with the owner Joaquín.  At some point the discussion veered from the meaning of life to a more concrete topic, the two suites he was  building on the property.

At the time the rooms were empty shells, but by look of the pictures they posted on Facebook today the suites are visitor ready.

Restaurant Report: Animal Gourmet - Silvestre

I believe Benito and Solange Molina's Silvestre was the very first campestre (open air seasonal restaurant) in the Valle.  Silvestre is now open for the season on Saturdays and Sundays. It is located off Hwy 3 at km 73.6.

For reservations call Manzanilla (their restaurant in Ensenada) -- (646) 175-7073

Lodging Report: Life & Food - Nachitas Place (Ensenada)

I don't usually post about lodging options in Ensenada, but I'm making an exception for Nachitas Place.  It is owned and operated by noted architect, Alejandro D'Acosta (Vena Cava, Bruma, Clos de Tres Cantos....) and it would be a great place to stay when the temperatures in the Valle soars.

Shout Out: Luxury Travels

"Far from the beaten track (and relatively undiscovered by hordes of tourists), Valle de Guadalupe is a beautiful location nestled in an other-worldly landscape of green valleys and hills covered in boulders."

New Hotel: Quinta Evy

New places to stay in the Valle seem to be popping up online everyday.

Quinta Evy doesn't seem to have an independent internet presence, but it shows up on most of the online booking sites.

New Hotel: Hotel Valentino

I've been spending some time updating the Hotels and Lodging page and came across a new listing on Hotels.com.  Based upon the pictures it looks like they were inspired by another hillside hotel in the neighborhood.
