Restaurant Report: Chowhound - Conchas de Piedras
Casa de Piedra's Espuma bb + and oysters from Guerrero Negro just might be my favorite wine/food pairing in the Valle.

3 More Wineries With Spectacular Views
Almost 3 years ago I wrote a post for Notas del Valle about 5 wineries with spectacular views. It is still one this blog's most popular articles. In the mean time, a lot has changed in the Valle, so it's time for an update.

3 More Wineries With Spectaular Views
Driving northeast on HWY 3 towards Tecate, Cieli is located on the right just past Mogor Badan and Deckman's. Ron McCabe has restored an old adobe building and added a covered patio which gives visitors a stunning panoramic view.
As an added bonus for wine tasters whose palates are wrecked from perhaps too many tastes, he makes and serves beer as well.
Leaving Cieli continue driving on HWY 3 towards Tecate. Very shortly you will see a sign on the right indicating the exit for Viñedos Lafarga. A mile or so down the maintained dirt road you'll find Lafarge. The tasting room in the large warehouse-like building has huge windows showcasing a stellar view.
Keep heading northeast on HWY 3 and around km 71 (past L.A. Cetto) you'll see one of the Valle's newest wineries on the left. The architect for the project oriented the winery's tasting room to take advantage of a striking view of the eastern end of the Valle.
Probably my favorite thing to do in the Valle is to drink wine in a lovely setting with a group of friends. The three wineries listed above would make a great place to do so.

We'll have wood-fired pizzas, karaoke and are featuring friend and neighbor, Damaris of Bodegas del Paraiso who will be offering free tastings of their delicious wines and olive oil. Come join us and tip a cup to the women you love!
