I can confirm that the weather was perfect and the wine flowed freely.

Here's Marie Daniels's report and extensive photo gallery:

Valle de Guadalupe is Hoppin'

You may have noticed a sign on Highway 3 in Valle de Guadalupe for Rancho Loza.  What you may not have known is that the primary crop of the rancho is hops.  And, from the looks of the picture they posted today it's going to be a good year for beer drinkers.

Restaurant Report: San Diego City Beat - El Jardin por Ryan Steyn

Mmmmmmm!
"The yellowtail itself was perfectly seared on the outside, raw on the inside, with a drizzle of sauce that mimicked a Japanese ponzu but with a deeper umami feel. Caviar, radish and maize garnishes provided textural contrast, arugula offered freshness and avocado brought richness."

Dinner Event: Chefs Alex Atala and Diego Hernandez at Corazon de Tierra - July 24

"Brazil is a region with a millenary culinary tradition of its own.

To juxtaposition that tradition with Baja Californian innovation is to paint plates with history. There is no better duo than Alex Atala from D.O.M. in Sao Paulo + Diego Hernández from Corazón de Tierra in Valle de Guadalupe to make history in Brazilian-Mexican culinary relations.

Guests are invited to partake an intimate pre-dinner gathering with the Chefs followed by a set menu of 6-courses paired with local wine, beer and mezcal. We partnered with our friends at Club Tengo Hambre to offer private roundtrip transportation from SoCal."
