Adobe Guadalupe and Ranch La Puerta Are Partnering for a Series of Dinner Events

Two of Baja's premier resort destinations have joined forces for a series of dinner events.

The first dinner will be hosted by La Cocina Que Canta, Rancho La Puerta's restaurant/cooking school on Mexican Mother's Day, May 10.

The chef for the dinner will be Rancho La Puerta's Denise Roa.

Note:  There is some contradicting information about the location of the Mother's Day dinner, but I'm pretty sure the location is La Cocina Que Canta.

Restaurant News - Adobe Guadalupe - Encuentro

I learned some interesting restaurant news at Adobe Guadalupe's wine tasting at The Wine Connection in Del Mar on Saturday.

1)  Adobe Guadalupe is building a new tasting room.  The new room will enable the public to enjoy AG wines without the need of a reservation.  The tasting facility will also have a food option in the form of a food truck.  This model has been very successful at Vena Cava where Troika feeds its hungry customers.  AG is hoping to serve its first customers in July.

2)  The previously announced Flor Franco project at the Hotel Encuentro is called Resguardo and will occupy a new space adjacent to the swimming pool.  A limited number of non hotel guests will be able to make reservations for the restaurant each night.  With the best view of the Valle and extended hours (later than 8:00 PM!!) reservations to dine at Resguardo just might be very hard to come by.

La Ruta - VCC+ Map of the Valley Gets an Update

Our favorite map of the Valle has been updated!

Since La Ruta - VCC+ is a commercial enterprise the businesses that have paid for advertising are more prominently displayed.  However, the La Ruta - VCC+ map is the most useful one we have found of the Valle.  It is reasonably accurate and has pretty complete listings with locations of the area's wineries and restaurants.

The map is free and can be found in most of the wineries and restaurants in the Valle.

You can check out an online version of the map here:  LA RUTA - VCC+

Free iOS7 and Android apps can be downloaded at the usual locations.

You can also find La Ruta - VCC+ here:

The headline is a bit snarky, but the article is full of praise.
