In anticipation of our trip to the Valle tomorrow for a Thanksgiving feast at Deckman's en el Mogor, I was noodling around the internet and discovered that the Deckman group of restaurants has updated their website.
A Rick Bayless Video
Chef Rick Bayless came to San Diego for a food and wine festival and managed to make the most of his trip by spending a few days in Baja. He posted a video on Facebook as he was touring Valle de Guadalupe.

A couple of items in this trip report do not ring true (describing Tres Valles as swanky, and I have never been rushed through a meal at Deckman's in 20 minutes).

Shout Out: Munchies - La Cocina de Doña Esthela
I must admit to a bit of snarkiness when Doña Esthela's machaca con huevos was named "World's Best Breakfast" by Foodie Hub. It wasn't that the dish was mediocre (it's absolutely delicious) but rather that the designation "World's Best" was a bit silly. Putting the silliness of the hyperbole aside, the award has put a spotlight on Doña Esthela and her food which has made her restaurant a must stop for Valle visitors.
Business is booming at Doña Esthela's restaurant and there is no one more deserving of her success.
