Upcoming Events - Valle de Guadalupe

I can't promise I'll get everything happening in the Valle listed, but I've added a page of upcoming events to the blog.

The link labeled "Calendar of Events" is located at the top of the page.

Shout Out: Baja Winery Tours - Sustainability

Although there are a few factual errors in their post this week, the overall gist of the article is spot on.

Recently I noticed a spike in the number of searches for La Esperanza, so in an effort to make searching for information easier I aggregated some relevant links onto one post.

Event: Chef's Plate 4

Chef’s Plate, the ultimate traveling cooking competition, is heading south of the border to the Valle de Guadalupe in Baja, Mexico.  Often called the “Napa of Mexico”, those in the know have been privy to its unique character that gives it a flavor of its own.  On Saturday July 25th, 2015 (5-9pm) three of Baja’s top chefs will be cooking whole lambs fresh from the farms of El Mogor served family style to 140 guests.

Tickets purchased!  Looking forward to this event.

Shout Out: LA Weekly - Valle de Guadalupe

Intrepid (in•tre•pid) fearless; adventurous

C'mon, LA Weekly.  Is bravery really needed to cross the border and to drive on well maintained highways to reach Valle de Guadalupe?

Lodging Report: Life & Food - Cuatro Cuatros

Cuatro Cuatros is located just outside of Valle de Guadalupe and its tent cabins offer a great lodging option for Valle visitors.

BTW, it's not mentioned in Life & Food's post but Cuatro Cuatros's outdoor bar, El Mirador, has a world class ocean view.

Award Alert: La Cocina de Doña Esthela - Best Breakfast

I love Doña Esthela's.  It is absolutely one of my favorite places in the Valle, but to name their machaca con huevos "Best Breakfast in the World" is just silly.

Here is W. Scott Koenig (Gringo in Mexico) with the details.

Baja's La Cocina de Doña Esthela named FoodieHub “Best Breakfast in the World”
