Better Make a Reservation Right Now
So, Vinisterra is having a special Vendemia dinner event at their place on August 8. It just so happens that the Chef for the event, Elena Reygadas of Rosetta in Mexico City, has just been named the best female chef in Latin America. Kudos to Vinisterra.

Adobe Guadalupe Food Truck
Adobe Guadalupe winery is racing to finish their new tasting room/tienda in time for las fiestas de Vendemia that begins this weekend. Like Vena Cava and Emeve the new space will have a food truck.
It now has a Facebook page.

Deckman's En El Mogor Plans to Stay Open Year Round
This paragraph from the Wall Street Journal Online article had some great news for the Valle.
Mr. Deckman is optimistic about the future of the valley. The restaurant has grown so popular since its opening in 2011 that he plans to stay open year 'round. He even gave up his San Jose del Cabo business recently and is applying for a Mexican passport. "I'm not a New Age person," he said, "but there is a calm and a peace here that made me want to stay longer and longer each time I was here."

New Restaurant Alert: Jardin de Adobe
Last Saturday Chef Ryan Steyn announced that he was leaving Latitud 32 at the El Cielo Winery.
We now know that he is staying in the Valle. Today on Facebook Adobe Guadalupe announced that Chef Steyn will helm a new restaurant on their property called Jardin de Guadalupe. They hope to be open August 28.
The number of restaurant projects in the Valle that have or will open this summer is making my head spin.

Word leaked about about Robert Alcocer's (Malva) second Valle restaurant to be located at the Baron Balche winery in June. Today hey announced on Facebook that they will be opening their doors to the public on Friday, July 25.

Death for Food - Recaps

By all accounts the Death for Food event held this past Sunday where participants could choose to harvest a farm raised quail to be served as part of the meal was meaningful and special.
With so many creative people taking part I'm sure there will be several accounts posted online. I'll try to aggregate them here as they become available.

Convivia's New Facebook Page
Convivia one of Chef Flor Franco's two projects at Encuentro Guadalupe has a brand new Facebook page. I'm guessing we'll be able to enjoy Chef Franco's food real soon.
Bodegas Cieli Winery and Brewery
On our last trip to the Valle I noticed the sign for the Bodegas Cieli Winery on Hwy 3 very close to Mogor Badan. Since I had been unaware of its existence before that moment I made a mental note to check for information about it when we returned home, Of course at my age I retain mental notes for about 15 seconds. So, it wasn't until today when doing a search for information about another winery that I found their Facebook page and website.
From the looks of it I may have to put it atop my list of places to check out.
