I love Doña Esthela's. It is absolutely one of my favorite places in the Valle, but to name their machaca con huevos "Best Breakfast in the World" is just silly.

Hi Chip! Gracias for the share as always! I will have to agree to disagree with you on the award being silly, however. I've had a lot of Mexican breakfasts in my 48 years, and Doña Esthela's machaca con huevos is way up on the top of the list. Many in the region would agree!

Hey Scott, There is no question that Esthela's food is delicious and she is deserving of all the positive attention she is now getting. I just think calling any dish "Best in the World" meaningless hyperbole.
ReplyDeleteHey Chip, copy that amigo. For every "Best..." something, there are countless others just as good if not better. But the Oscars, 50 Best Restaurants, etc. etc. wouldn't be nearly as fun or exciting were it not for a bit of hyperbole!
